Hello lovelies! Welcome to the Gemstone Organic Blog. We are here to share our insight on skincare, holistic living, and beyond.
Tonight I am writing this blog as I sit in the high desert in the Las Padres National Forest ~ and as I get ready to send this out she comes rising over the hills to remind me that I must share her beauty here! Tomorrow, March 1st, we have the first of two full moons in March ~ another magical month. She reaches her fullness in Virgo tomorrow at 4:51 pm PST (7:51 pm EST`). Native Americans called this Moon the Worm Moon as this is the time of the year when the earth begins to soften and the earthworms begin to make their way to the surface.
Full Moons are a time for releasing , letting go and recalibrating and joining this Virgo Full Moon we have a Venus-Jupiter trine that also adds a joy and optimism that can boost your confidence and faith ~ take notice your day tomorrow!
Under her fullness Grandmother Moon is sitting in the first house and so it is a good time to be present to the way you enter a room and to what you leave behind when you leave the room. It is also a good time to take a look at things from different directions to shift your perspective. Remember even small shifts can lead to big awakenings and healing.
Virgo Moons can open up our energy around our life paths and encourage us to bring our radiance out into the world to support healing for ourselves and others. This is a wonderful time to work with your Throat Chakra. Clearing the Throat Chakra helps you to have good, clear communication enabling you to express yourself authentically.
Full Moon Ceremony
Taking the time to create and share in ceremony/rituals under the Full Moon can be food for your soul. This is a time of the month when many women ovulate, symbolizing Purna energy, a time of fullness, expansiveness and productivity. Rituals/ceremonies deeply nourish our spirit and soul and afterwards you will find that you are more clear and connected to your center.
Here is a simple chakra ceremony that you can use under this Virgo Moon ~
Your Ceremony ~ you can do this in the evening or in the morning during the Full Moon ~
Place your mandala somewhere that you will see if often during the next two weeks ~ for me this is an important part of the healing power of ceremony. To bring it forward is how we hold onto the power and healing we experienced during the ceremony.
Here are a few questions to think about during your ceremony:
Mother Earth is shifting into spring and we are shifting with her ~ feel the movement, be the movement. Catch her the Moonlight and follow the energy ~ and don't forget to put out your Moon Water gems ~
Sending Moon Light Your Way,
Tomorrow at 5:27 am PST we have a Full Moon in Leo, a Full Lunar Eclipse, a Super Moon, a Blue Moon and a Blood Moon. That is a lot of Moon! And we all know that the Moon rules our emotions so be aware over the next few days of your responses and words.
Blue Moons are when a full moon happens a second time in the same month; Super Moons are closer to the earth and so they appear bigger and brighter; Blood Moons are when the Moon takes on a reddish color under the total eclipse and Leo ~ well Leo Moons are about personal power, warmth, and creativity.
Leo is a Masculine, Barren, Fire Sign and rules the Heart & Upper Back
A Sun in Aquarius sees the greater good of all and the Leo Moon is about self-empowerment and creativity and expression. A Moon in Leo asks the queen within to step forward and take a stand from a place of strength and calm. This is a time to delve into all those places within you that have been hiding in the shadows, waiting for the light to bring them to life, and allow them to grow and blossom.
This Lunar eclipse will be a North Node Eclipse meaning it wll be connected to the freminine (the moon) and with the future (North Node). This is a time to connect the deep expression of our self, where we open to self-love and move from the heart. Find your queen and be proud of her ~ open to her calling. Let your emotions guide you toward the issues that are in need of releasing. Let yourself look at where you let love keep you from feeling free and set an intention to work on this without rebellion! A good thing to remember is that Leo & Aquarius hold the energy of individuality ~ they may be in opposition, but this is a power place for sure!
The stones I will be working with under this Moon are Citrine, Honey Calcite, Tigers Eye and Lapis Lazuli. They are wonderful for supporting you in discovering your hidden strengths, inspiring personal empowerment, enhancing self esteem, support you in making decisions with discernment that are unclouded by this barrage of emotions that we will be dealing with and to carry the power of the sun! For colors, golds, yellows and deep blues are wonderful for this royalty sign! If you like essential oils, I love Rosemary and Ginger for empowering this chakra.
I believe that sound is a powerful tool to work with under this Full Moon and so I share the following sound ritual with you:
Toning is not chanting or singing ~ it is a sound more than a word you create. You pick a note and then draw it out so that you are working with its vibration in your body. Our voice is a powerful way to carry our intentions and as we tone it brings our intention into our bodies through a vibration delivering healing energy. It can also help you to restore balance and flow to the your chakra energy centers. Using your voice creates a deep vibration deep within your body that is soothing and peaceful.
There are different sounds for each energy center. For the Solar Plexus the sound is RAM. And the sound for the Third Eye the sound is SHAM. These are the two words/notes we will be working with under this Leo Moon. Using your voice to sound the chakra tones can help to restore balance and flow to the energy centers. And please don’t worry if you have a good voice or have trouble carrying a tune ~ you can still get the same effect!
How to tone:
Super moons are especially bright in winter ~ so watch her rise tomorrow night at 5:28 pm PST or 8:28 pm EST. The Lunar eclipse will be starting at 2:51 AM PST AND ending tomorrow morning at 8:08 am ~ so if you have a chance watch the Moon set tomorrow morning at 6:55 am PST~ the sun will rise at the same time 6:52 am (PST) ~ it should be spectacular!
As I am finish writing this the Moon is shining her beautiful light on me ~ oh, how I love her so this Grandmother Moon! She makes me feel so much gratitude and love every time I look up at her ~ I know she does the same for you.
Leo Full Moons present us with a powerful time to see ourselves, our relationships, and our world more in light of how they actually are than how we would like them to be. Enjoy the rising of the Light, the return of longer days as we move into Imbolc on February 1st and ground hogs day on Feb 2nd
Let this sun warm your souls moon family and keep the personal power vibration high ~ and don’t forget to put out your Moon Water Gems!
Full Moon Blessings,
Tomorrow we celebrate a New Moon in Capricorn at 6:17 pm PST (9:17 pm EST). The Capricorn Moon energy is feminine and earthy. She connects us to our ambitions and encourages us to dream, organize, and manifest our visions. What a perfect way to start the year. This year Venus joins her in Capricorn calling us to bring love and beauty into our 2018 goals.
We also have access to a Cazimi Moon for our first New Moon of 2018. What is a Cazimi Moon? Any planet whose center is within 17 minutes of the arc of the center of the Sun in celestial longitude is said to be a Cazimi. Planets are thought to be very powerful and benefic when Cazimi! According to The average speed of the Moon is such that it remains Cazimi for about an hour; so the best time to create and set your intentions is a half an hour before and half an hour after the exact conjunction with the Sun.
So the best time to place your New Moon intentions are ½ hour before and ½ hour after the Sun-Moon conjunction (6:17 pm PST). According to Jim Shawvan: If you have something important to start around now, this is a great time to do it.
Under this Capricorn moon you may want to revisit your past goals and look at them with a new perspective ~ or clean the slate and bring new visions and goals to your new year.
My favorite ritual at this first New Moon is to create a vision board and a New Year mandala. These two visuals help me to carry my goals and visions forward throughout the year with intention and creativity.
I like to create my vision board under the Dark Moon.
Creating Your Vision Board
I love to create my Mandala under the New Crescent Moon (Wednesday, January 17th). I find that it helps me to visualize myself in a new place on the wheel of the year ~ guiding me into thoughts and visions that come from creating my vision board and providing additional love and beauty for my eyes and heart throughout the year.
Creating Your Mandala
Thoughts to think about as you create:
For your altar:
Use earth tones, Vetiver for grounding, Frankincense for a spiritual connection. Gemstones I love for this moon are carnelian, red jasper and agates.
Rituals bring balance to our lives and can be done alone or with others. They remind us of our heart intentions and help us to stay connected to our true scared selves. Let this be a year where you make intentional room for your desires.
Today is my birthday ~ I am 61. One of my goals this year is to share more about myself with you, my dear moon family. Please read my opening blog here.

Tonight, October 8th, we are under the Dark Moon of Libra at 8:47 pm PST (11:47 EST). We also have the opportunity to work with a beautiful Cazimi Moon again tonight! These dropping moons contain a strong energy for seeding your intentions. Libra energy gives us the chance weigh out what is increasing and decreasing in our lives, showing us a deeper way of intuiting paths to self-growth and inner fulfillment. When we find ourselves indecisive it can keep us from moving forward with assertiveness. Remember that making choices is freedom.
When we are setting intentions under this New Moon in the Air Sign of Libra we can use the element of wind, the mothers breath, to guide us deeper into our places of knowing.
This is our first New Moon following the Fall Equinox, a time to allow the winds of change to move out what longer serves us and to fill those new spaces with that which brings us forward in balance. Once the wind moves through us we may find ourselves in a place of stillness. When you are in your place of stillness you can be inwardly still and reflective while at the same time outwardly present to your situation. It is from this beautiful place of stillness that we can choose to act on a situation or not! Outer and inner stillness reinforce one another.
During a dark moon (seed moon) your mind turns inward. You may feel contemplative yet find your intuition is active. This is the time to seed/plant your intentions.
Here are a few questions to contemplate under this Dark Moon ~
Where is your inner point of balance??
What is increasing/decreasing in your life?
Here are a few thoughts on seeding your intention for this New Moon in Libra:
Air is a powerful element. It carries the archetypal properties of spirit into the physical world. Use this air element to turn and shift and move your intention in the direction of your beautiful wishes!
Tomorrow, October 9th, we will be under the Sprouting Moon. During a sprouting moon you may find sudden insights or new ideas! Your appetite may increase and you may need less sleep. If you can, watch the Moon set tomorrow night (7:15 pm PST, 10:15 EST) ~ look for that sliver moon as the sun is setting. It is a beautiful way to bring your intention forward and feel the blessing of new beginnings as we move into the waxing moon.

Tomorrow the Moon is Full in Aries. This is the Harvest Moon ~ since it is the closest full moon to the Fall Equinox. It was also known as the Full Corn Moon as it is the time of year for harvesting the corn. This is a beautiful time to honor the Corn Mother for her gifts of abundance and nourishment.
Aries is a masculine, cardinal, fire sign. It is ruled by mars and rules the head. That is why this is such a powerful time to get your heart and head to connect and move them in the same direction. Use this fire to awaken your inner power and take on that Aries confidence, strength and passion and put it to good use in making your life and work successful!
Under a full moon our emotions are heightened and the full light of her can sometimes give us more energy at night and keep us awake! This Full Moon is moving in harmony with Mars (ruling planet of Aries) and so you may feel her energy magnified!
I find this Full Moon in Aries a perfect opportunity for harvesting our power through nourishment and balance. This is a time to know ourselves, to share our joy, a time for awakening spirit and for using this fire energy for empowering.
Full Moons also help us to shine light on that which needs to be released and you may notice that what you are ready to release is coming up for you. Before I share a beautiful fire/earth/water ceremony, I want to share a few thoughts for your altar. Gemstones you may want to connect with are red jasper, diamond, or black obsidian. Colors to use are oranges and reds. And are a few questions to contemplate over the next few days:
Here is a beautiful nourishment ceremony by the Order of the White Moon Goddess ~ I hope you can make time tomorrow to share with family and friends. Also, it would be lovely to place a second jar of water out under the moon tonight to use in this soup! Use the gemstones of moonstone and agate along with smokey quartz.
Enjoy this ceremony and nourish your inner power ~
Creating: homemade Chicken (or veggie) soup
~ Celery, chopped
~ Canned peas (1)
~ Fresh or canned corn (1)
~ Fresh baby carrots
~ Vidalia onion
~ 1 free-range/organic chicken
~ small red potatoes
~ 3 cans of chicken broth
~ 5 cubes chicken/vegetable boullion
~ 2 cans full of water ~ preferably your Moon Water!
~ Olive oil
~ Mushrooms, chopped
~ Italian seasoning
~ I also suggest using a small amount of ginger to give you the wholeness of ingesting and digesting life!
Not all is mandatory. Put in what you like, take out what you don't!
Rose oil (or tea tree, sage, lavender or plain lemon)
Picture/statue of Corn Woman (or aspect of corn woman)
Candle in protective jar (any color, her colors are all of the rainbow ~ red would be nice for the Aries energy!)
Stand in the middle of your kitchen ~ set good intent for the ritual and food you are about to prepare. Begin to meditate on the vision of the Great Goddess/Corn Mother. Light your candle and/or incense. Place the image of the Corn Woman near the candle. Wash the chicken and put it into the soup pot with a small amount of olive oil. Turn on the stove. Wash the food that need to be washed. Place it all in front of you. Think of the Mother an give her thanks. Ask that this food nourish all who eats it, and that it may be as delicious and comforting as it sounds! Place the chicken broth, bouillon cubes and 2 cans of Moon water immediately after the short blessing. Chop up veggies (all the while, being in a meditative state). Place all ingredients into the pot with seasonings. Add more of whatever is needed to create your desired taste. Leave in pot on medium for about 2 hours. Thank Corn Mother for help in preparation. And before you eat, thank her for her bounty. Sit down and enjoy!
And don’t forget to put out your Moon Water Gems ~
Full Moon Love Your Way,
Today is the Autumnal Equinox ~ Mabon ~ one of two days of the year when the hours of light equal the hours of dark. Autumn begins with Lammas and ends on Samhain, with Mabon marking the mid-point. The Autumnal Equinox is a time to work with balance ~ to feel and gather the memory and energy of what that means in life and body.
As we move forward into days of decreasing light and increasing darkness we can see how they belong together to create a free-flow of giving and receiving. It becomes like breathing, teaching us the ability to empty out to create space for new beginnings.
Summers bring high energy and as we move into fall we feel our energy starting to become quieter, a slowing down to prepare us for coming darker days of winter. It is a beautiful time to take stock of what you have grown. This seasonal cycle of growth helps us to stay present to the ongoing changes our life brings. Today marks a lovely time to gather the riches and wisdom you have gained over this year that you would like to take with you into the depths of the reflective lake over these coming months.
Here are a few ways to play with this energy of balance today:
Today practice the art of doing without doing and see what happens. This is a concept of seeing that we move forward with or without our own participation. Enjoy the energies ~
Happy Autumn Moon Family,
We are moving into our New Moon in Virgo this Sunday, September 9th at 11:01 am PST (2:01 pm EST). This is a time to look at what works and what does not work and how to make improvements. Take on Virgo’s ability to organize and shed a few things or gift others. There is nothing better than to feel the benefits of having things in their place and removing the clutter. Or maybe you just want to share yourself with a friend or family member ~ Virgo is about serving and caring for others.
Today, September 7th, we are under the Balsamic Moon which is always a energetic time for releasing before bringing in the new. Those of you who follow me know how much I love the Dark Moon ~ I love the raw, deep energy it shares and how much I learn in this small yet powerful window of time. The Moon is currently in Leo but moves into Virgo tomorrow morning at 7:29 am PST (10:29 EST).
As we move into this Dark Moon in Virgo tomorrow, September 8th, I want you to ask yourself this question~
What must I do to get to the truth?
This is the time to gnaw and chew your way through your obstacles to the truth ~ crack things open to penetrate to the essence. This will help you to reach the result you are holding back from.
Then under the New Moon in Virgo on Sunday, September 9th, I want you to ask yourself this question ~
Because you are! Let yourself imagine where you want to be, and then take the first steps that will commit you to going there. This is how to keep the momentum going. This is a time to receive.
Virgo can sometimes shed a bit of low energy but with all the beautiful planetary action we have lots of great energy to work with. On Sunday we are also gifted with
a Grand Earth Trine between Uranus, Mercury and Saturn. This trine encourages us to listen. So take the time to listen on Sunday and to gather solid support and information that this trine offers. If you do ~ you may find that your wishes and gifts shown will take flight like a kite!
We also have a Cazimi or dropping Moon energy that is available for the New Virgo Crescent Moon on Sunday ½ hour before and after the New Moon (10:31 - 11:31 am PST). It is a perfect time to start something new or complete an important task that is waiting ~ use this Virgo Cazimi energy to get it done or make it happen!
For your altar I suggest earth colors of the Earth, browns, oranges or reds. Gemstones to add are jasper, carnelian, agate or emerald! Add essential oils to your meditation of ylangylang, orange or cardamom.
A few short rituals I offer:
And to each of you ~ please, remember that you are blessed.
New Moon Wishes & Blessings,
We passed through a Full Moon in gentle Pisces this am at 4:56 PST (7:56 am EST).
Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. This gentle water sign is ruled by ethereal Neptune, reminding us that we are all born of the stars. Pisces is a very romantic sign, a sign of compassion, and one of spiritual seeking. It reminds us that we are still unable to grasp all that Life has to offer us or fully understand our intuition. Under a Pisces Moon you may feel in touch with something greater than yourself, feel more compassionate and forgiving. This is a time to fully connect with you ~ so that you can connect with others. Let yourself embody the divine ~ to guide you to make the invisible visible.
Here is a quiet ritual that you can use tonight or today as the Full Moon energy is still available:
And if you haven't already ~ do put your Moon Water out gems ~
More soon ~ for now I am sending you Full Moon Love,

Hello Sweet Moon Family. Tonight the Dark, Balsamic Moon enters Leo at 9:18 pm here on the West Coast (PST), and early tomorrow morning (August 10th) at 12:18 am on the East Coast (EST). We have a beautiful Dark Moon for the next ~34 hours to work with in the same sign as it will be for our New Moon ~ lots of time to work with what holds heart for you.
Leo is a masculine, fixed, fire sign that is ruled by the Sun and rules the heart. This is a great time to rekindle, follow, connect to what has heart for you and bring it forward in a way that aligns with body, mind and spirit. Fire signs connect us with our spirit and spirituality and when we are in a masculine, fixed sign it pushes us, literally, into energies that help us to bring things to completion. Let it call you to those things that hold heart for you.
The planetary actions this week have our emotions stirring and sometimes it feels uncomfortably deep. On Tuesday, August 7th we had Uranus go retrograde, then on Wednesday, 8-8-18 we moved through the Lions Gateway; and on Saturday, August 11th at 2:58 am PST (5:58 am EST) we have a New Moon in Leo accompanied by our last partial solar eclipse of the season; and this new moon is a Supermoon, meaning that the Moon is closer to the earth so her energies can feel stronger. We know we have planetary movement everyday, but when we feel the shifts ~ some not so comfortable ~ and follow up on what is happening not just around our house or our planet, but around the universe we can sometimes relax into the energies and find solace in their teachings and ability to bring up the work we need to do and/or see.
So as we bath in the Darkness of these next two days of the Balsamic Moon, lets find time to let go of old patterns ~ because the timing is right. Before seed day (the beginning of a new cycle) you need to identify the source of old patterns and commit yourself to the journey to opening the space for transformation and inner movement. Development comes through numerous shifts and changes and steady progress creates movement. Old skins must be shed to bring new growth ~ lets stop living the ordinary life in the ordinary way!
Lets work on our heart spaces ~ follow our hearts and trust.
Here are a few ways to work with the energies of the Dark and New Moon:
This is a time for exploring new beginnings ~ always new beginnings. Leo is a sign that is full of courage and strength like the Lion herself. Female Lionesses are the hunters; males can roar so loud it can be heard up to 5 miles away; and their gestation period is 105 days.
So be the warriors and warrioresses you are, roar your hearts intention into the world, feel the heart love and see where your intention falls in 105 days ~ November 22nd.
New Moon Wishes,
